Rockefeller Group Promotes Brandi Hanback to Co-Head of Development

Executive Vice Presidents Hanback and Weeks to Co-Lead Developer’s Growth in North America

NEW YORK – January 23, 2024 – Rockefeller Group announced today Brandi Hanback has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Co-Head of Development.  Based in Maryland, she was previously Executive Vice President, Deputy Head of Development, a position she has held since 2019.

Ms. Hanback joins Tom Weeks, Executive Vice President, Co-Head of Development, in the oversight of strategy and growth for Rockefeller Group’s national development platform.  They will have dual responsibility for the growth and execution of the business across all property types, dividing leadership responsibilities strategically across the company’s seven U.S. development regions.  Mr. Weeks has led the company’s Development business since joining the company in 2019.

“This promotion for Brandi is another step forward in strengthening our Development business in North America, and it’s a direct reflection of the outstanding partnership that Tom and Brandi have leveraged to great success over the past four years,” said Daniel J. Moore, Rockefeller Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

“Brandi has been a true partner in every sense of the word as we’ve rapidly expanded our project pipeline over the past four years,” said Mr. Weeks.  “As the company continues to grow, and to establish new targets for expansion – by property type and geography – it’s a real advantage for us, our colleagues and our partners that we operate as a leadership team across the United States.”

Since 2019, the company’s development portfolio has more than doubled, with active projects totaling more than 14 million square feet and $5.4 billion, compared with 6.6 million square feet and $1.6 billion.  In that time, the company has expanded to seven development regions from five, adding the Rocky Mountain Region based in Denver, and a Southwest Region based in Houston.  The company’s other regions include the Northeast, New Jersey/Pennsylvania, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and West.

“We have an outstanding brand and an exceptional team at Rockefeller Group,” said Ms. Hanback.  “It’s been such a great opportunity for me personally to work with Tom and our Senior Managing Directors in each regional office to grow the development business.  I’m looking forward to further sharpening our focus, building relationships with great partners, and producing extraordinary results.”

Prior to her current role, Ms. Hanback was Executive Vice President, Industrial Development, a position she held from 2013 to 2019.  Under her leadership, the industrial business line completed more than eight million square feet of new development, helping to position Rockefeller Group as one of the nation’s leading industrial development firms.

Ms. Hanback joined the company in 2003 to form Rockefeller Group Foreign Trade Zone Services, an advisory firm for tenants and independent clients in the areas of foreign trade zone designations, trade and supply chain matters.  Before Rockefeller Group, she started TradeStar Advisory Services, which provided clients with a variety of international trade services.  She worked as a Senior Manager at KPMG from 1999 to 2003 and spent 10 years prior as Executive Director of the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones.

Ms. Hanback holds a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America, and is admitted to the bars of Maryland, District of Columbia and the U.S. Supreme Court.  She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech and George Mason University in political science and international transactions, respectively.

Ms. Hanback is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones and was made an Honorary Life Member of the NAFTZ in 2019.  She is an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and is a regular speaker on the U.S. real estate market, trade and logistics.
