Latest Lease in Piscataway Brings 2018 Project Leasing to More than 1 million SF
Fujitsu General America Inc. has leased 155,000 square feet at Rockefeller Group Logistics Center in Piscataway, N.J.
The deal, announced Nov. 6 by Rockefeller Group and JV partner PCCP LLC, brings the second building at the project to 100 percent occupancy, and the total leasing volume at the project to more than 1 million square feet in 2018. Rockefeller Group is developing five buildings totaling 2.1-million-square-feet at the site, with the three additional buildings scheduled for completion in 2019.
Fujitsu General provides ductless cooling, heating systems, and VRF technology for residential and commercial use. They will distribute air conditioners, heat pumps and other products from Rockefeller Group Logistics Center to customers throughout the Northeast.
“With the second building now 100 percent occupied, we are currently working towards completing construction on the balance of the site,” said Heath Abramsohn, Vice President and Regional Director for the New Jersey and Pennsylvania region.
“In order to best serve our customers in the Northeast, we felt it was important to consolidate our operations in Middlesex County,” said Matt Peterson, President and COO, Fujitsu General. “Rockefeller Group Logistics Center provides us with a location that is not only close to the port of Elizabeth, but the facility we are moving to is state-of-the-art and it essentially doubles the capacity of our existing distribution center.”
“We are delighted that Fujitsu General has chosen Piscataway, a decision that enables this international company to more broadly flourish in what is becoming an epicenter of economic development in the tri-state region,” Piscataway Mayor Brian C. Wahler said. “We thank Fujitsu General for joining our Township and wish it much success.”
