The Rockefeller Group Hires Daniel J. Moore as EVP and Head of Urban Development

NEW YORK, NY – August 10, 2016 – The Rockefeller Group announced today that development and real estate capital markets executive Daniel J. Moore has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Head of Urban Development nationally.  He is based in Manhattan.

Previously, Mr. Moore was a Managing Director at Hines Interests, L.P., in Washington, D.C., responsible for the company’s new business development and equity capital relationships throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.  In that capacity, he was the officer in charge of 1213 Walnut, a 26-story, 322-unit apartment project in Center City Philadelphia, Hines’ first new development in that city.

At The Rockefeller Group, Mr. Moore reports to the company’s Co-Presidents and CEOs, Dan Rashin and Tetsuya Masuda.  In his new position, he succeeds Mr. Rashin, who had been serving in dual capacities since being elevated to Co-CEO in January 2016.  As Head of Urban Development, Mr. Moore is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the company’s office, residential and mixed-use development portfolio.

Throughout the United States, The Rockefeller Group has several major development projects in planning or construction spanning office, residential, retail and hospitality.  Current projects nearing completion include the first phase of Flushing Commons, a master-planned mixed-use development in New York City; Amaray Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Liv Northgate in Gilbert, Ariz.; and AVE Florham Park at The Green at Florham Park in Florham Park, N.J., which is also home to BASF’s North American headquarters, the Summit Medical Building and the New York Jets training facility.

“Dan is a highly experienced development and investment management professional with the right combination of leadership and vision to help The Rockefeller Group grow our pipeline and deliver best-in-class properties in and around the major metro regions,” said Mr. Rashin.

“I’m very pleased to join The Rockefeller Group, a company with a monumental reputation and even greater potential,” said Mr. Moore.  “We have a sizable development platform and project portfolio today and will continue to diversify by geography and asset type.  Our ongoing focus will be on creating projects of the highest quality, meeting the needs of an evolving market and delivering superior results to our partners and clients.”

Mr. Moore has spent the past 16 years with Hines in various positions of increasing authority in New York, Connecticut and Washington, D.C.  Prior to his most recent position, he was a Managing Director in the company’s Capital Markets Group, where he negotiated joint ventures, sourced equity capital and was involved in the structuring of domestic and international investment funds.

Previously, he was Vice President with Hines U.S. Office Value Added Funds I & II, with responsibility for investment management of the funds’ portfolio of investments aggregating approximately $1.9 billion.  Early in his career, he served as a Marketing and Leasing Manager for Hines in the company’s Fairfield County office, and he started his career as an Assistant Project Manager for the development of 745 Seventh Avenue in New York.

Prior to his career at Hines, Mr. Moore served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.  He holds an MBA from The Wharton School, with a dual major in Finance and Real Estate, and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
