Rockefeller Group Development Corporation Breaks Ground on New VA Oceanside Clinic
IRVINE, CA, December 2, 2008 – Rockefeller Group Development Corporation (RGDC) and the VA San Diego Healthcare System broke ground today on a new VA clinic in Oceanside, California, located in the Seagate Corporate Center. RGDC is the exclusive developer of the new medical outpatient clinic for the Veterans Health Administration. Major construction is scheduled to start in February 2009, and the new facility should be ready for occupancy in early 2010.
“Today marks a very important next step in the construction of the VA Clinic, and The Rockefeller Group is proud the project is moving forward at a swift pace,” said Tom McCormick, SIOR, senior vice president of Development for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation. “The VA Clinic will be a valuable addition to Seagate Corporate Center, and we look forward to 2010 when its doors will open for service men and women.”
To meet the growing demands for outpatient services, the VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) will build the two-story 65,465 net usable square foot outpatient clinic to augment its services for veterans and expand the types of specialty care available. The facility will be strategically located to provide timely access for veterans living in the North County area of San Diego County.
The new outpatient clinic will provide services for approximately 88,000 outpatient visits per year. Space is being provided for Primary Care, Diabetes, Mental Health, Audiology, Dental, Optometry, Orthopedics, Urology, and Compensation and Pension Evaluation services. Radiology and Laboratory ancillary support services will also be provided at the new clinic. The VA San Diego Healthcare System is expecting to staff the new facility with approximately 180 to 190 employees.
John Buckel of Capital Partners Development Company will serve as the project development manager. Ron King, SIOR, and David Onosko, senior vice presidents with Coldwell Banker Commercial Almar Group ONCOR International, are the exclusive leasing agents for Seagate Corporate Center.
