Rockefeller Group Development Corporation to Develop in Lakeland, Florida

Company Chooses Polk County for Industrial Distribution Center

MIAMI, FL, August 6, 2008 Rockefeller Group Development Corporation (RGDC), through its regional office in Miami, has acquired approximately 113 acres near Exit 38 of Interstate 4 in the city of Lakeland, in Polk County, Florida. The site is located at the former USA International Speedway, midway between Tampa and Orlando.

“Central Florida is quickly becoming a prime distribution center for the state, replacing traditional regional distribution hubs such as Atlanta,” said Edgar Jones, vice president and regional development officer, Florida, for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation. “We are confident in the long-term potential of central Florida and will continue looking for other development opportunities in the area.”

Jones said the Lakeland location is ideal for a company seeking access to more than 8.5 million people within a 100-mile radius, with its proximity to I-4, I-75, and Florida’s Turnpike; the world-class Tampa and Orlando airports, and easy access to the state’s growing ports and to the proposed CSX Intermodal Center in nearby Winter Haven.

RGDC plans to build a first-class industrial park of more than one million square feet in distribution space. The park will be targeted to large-scale tenants. RGDC has a large portfolio of industrial properties in New Jersey and California and hopes to duplicate that success in Florida. RGDC expects to begin development by first quarter 2009.

Edward Miller and Dolores Seymour of Colliers Arnold in Tampa represented The Rockefeller Group in the transaction.

Rockefeller Group Development Corporation is headquartered in Manhattan and is a national owner, developer and manager of prestigious commercial real estate properties. Its developments include corporate headquarters, landmark properties, multi-use urban complexes, multinational distribution facilities, suburban business parks, and foreign trade zones. RGDC, with regional offices in Mt. Olive, NJ, Miami, FL, Phoenix, AZ, and Irvine, CA, is an operating company of The Rockefeller Group, developer of Rockefeller Center in New York City.
