Vincent E. Silvestri is Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Rockefeller Group International, Inc. (RGI). Named to this position in February 2007, he is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the corporation.
Mr. Silvestri had served since 2003 as Chief Administrative Officer, responsible for RGI’s Corporate Communications, Administration, Corporate Financial Services (IT, Billing, Payroll and Accounts Payable) and Corporate Human Resources departments.
Mr. Silvestri joined The Rockefeller Group in 1984 as Manager, Press Relations, with responsibility for the public relations and media relations for the corporate parent as well as its management and development subsidiaries. In January 1987, he was named Assistant Director, public relations, and in March 1989, Director.
In September 1993, Mr. Silvestri was named Vice President, Corporate Communications for The Rockefeller Group, with responsibility for the direction of the corporate communications function of RGI, as well as continuing to direct the various communication activities for the company’s subsidiaries. He was also elected an officer of Rockefeller Group, International Inc. at that time. In July 1995, Mr. Silvestri assumed the additional title of Senior Vice President, Communications & Administration, for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation, with responsibility for the company’s administration and employee relations functions.
In July 1999, he accepted the additional responsibility of Senior Managing Director for the Corporate Communications Department of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., the international real estate services firm and a Rockefeller Group company from 1976 to early 2007.
During his tenure with The Rockefeller Group, Mr. Silvestri has been involved in the communications planning and execution of some of the largest public events in the company’s history including: the architectural lighting of 30 Rockefeller Plaza (1984); the re-opening of the Rainbow Room (1987); the sale of RGI to Mitsubishi Estate Company, Ltd. (1989-90); the transfer of ownership of the landmark portion of Rockefeller Center (1995-96) and the announcement of a co-development agreement with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. to build 745 Seventh Avenue (1998).
Prior to joining RGI, Mr. Silvestri’s professional experience included service in the Corporate Communications Department of Olin Corporation and the News Department of WHN radio (now WFAN).
He is a graduate of Fordham University and holds a BA in Communications Arts and Sciences and an MA in Public Communications.
